Review of the Gilette Fusion

Gilette Fusion Review
When Gilette announced the new Fusion and Fusion Power razors with a "breakthrough five blade shaving surface", we immediately recalled the old Saturday Night Live commercial for the Triple Track razor. That parody was released in October of 1975 if you can believe it. How far we have come!

Since then, every satirist has taken a pot shot at Big Shaving, including the Daily Show and The Onion. For those that canstand Sopranos-like foul language, read their mock letter from the President of Gilette entitled "F$&% Everything, We’re Doing Five Blades".

But even the stodgy Economist could not pass up the announcement of the Fusion by injecting its British wit. By applying Moore’s Law — originally applied to microprocessors — to razors, they predict that by the year 2100, we will all be shaving with 14 blades.

For what it’s worth, the Fusion was a pleasant shave, but it was hard to tell any noticeable difference from the Mach3 or Mach3 Turbo. Or maybe we’re just old fashioned.
