The current home page photo of the child’s feet in the father’s hands was generously loaned to us by Mary Bingham. While we have traditionally used stock photography for our website, we decided it was time to explore this new world they call "Web 2.0" and see if there were applications for On The Fly. Flickr, the photo sharing & tagging site that is frequently mentioned as a "Web 2.0" company was a natural place to start, and we were fortunate to find a photo we liked, and a photographer willing to let us use it. A sampling of Mary’s works, which range from shots of Paris to flowers to her cats, can be found on here.
Using Flickr to source photography is just the tip of the iceberg. Significant improvements to our website are right around the corner, and one of the first new features to be introduced was a new-and-improved blog! Now, you can "Digg" your favorite blog entries or add it to any of a couple dozen RSS aggregators. Soon, we may be adding a Comment feature so we can read what our customers think about our musings. Perhaps no one cares? Perhaps everyone does? We’ll find out soon enough.
