The Nice Thing About Wearing a Bow Tie

Edward Armah Bow TieI guess it’s been a while since I’ve worn a bow tie because I can’t help but notice how many people have stared at my neck today. Smiles. Double-takes. Then another gentleman wearing a bow tie was walking towards me, and I said, "Nice bow tie." He responded, "You too." It’s like when you buy a Porsche and then other Porsche owners nod when they pass. It’s a rare kinship.

Almost never missing an opportunity to self-promote, it took all my self-restraint to not inform the gentleman:

Not just a bow tie. An Edward Armah 4-in-1 reversible bow tie*. We could get stranded on a desert island with only the clothes we’re wearing today, and I’d be able to wear a different tie 4 days a week, while you, Sir, would have just 1.

* Edward Armah reversible bow ties should be live on our site imminently. They were the coolest product I saw at MRket in New York this season.
