Chris Higdon‘s cactus pens might be the most stunning pieces in
his collection, and this limited edition pen reaffirms that sense.
The manufacturing process begins with prickly pear cactus from the
genus Opuntia. The skeleton of the cactus is removed, dried,
bleached, and cast in a clear resin. Once drilled, the background
is reverse painted to add contrast and accent the architecture of
the skeleton for a truly unique effect.
New Tools For Your Home Bar
We’re always looking for new ways to ratchet up our home bar techniques a notch. For presentation, we like the look of a gold cocktail pick skewering a brandied cherry in a rust-colored Manhattan. And for pure drama, we’re strong proponents of the saber, but we also enjoy the sound and fury of a three-prong ice pick shredding a berg of ice. More ideas after the jump.
