The Making of an Ice Ball

Since the Club’s inception in 2010, we have been committed to offering ice balls with whiskey. For the uninitiated, due to science, the ice melts significantly slower as a large sphere than as a collection of smaller cubes. It has to do with the surface area to volume ratio if you want to really look into it. With an ice ball, you still get some dilution, and you get the chill, but without the whiskey being watered down quickly. It’s like they say: once you go ice ball, you never go rocks.

So why doesn’t every bar or restaurant offer ice balls? Because there is no easy or inexpensive way to get crystal clear ice balls at scale. You can:
