Sperry Top-sider returns to Wingtip June 25th for a new kind of custom trunk show. Tattoo artist Dominic Vasquez joins the event and will be tattooing your new Sperrys with designs in the mode of sailor jerry. See examples after the jump.
It’s that time again. Our twice-yearly Risk/Reward Sale launches today. For those new to Wingtip, this is not your typical sale. Escalating markdowns are common, but with most stores, you don’t have any notice when the sale might increase from 30% off to 40% off, or from 50% to final markdowns. With our Risk/Reward sale, it couldn’t be more transparent.
Kentucky Derby Party Recap
The Club held it’s fifth annual Kentucky Derby party on Saturday. To say that members and guests took their responsibility to dress up for the party seriously would be an understatement. So much seersucker, linen, madras, and as one member put it: “hats for days.” The menu featured $5 mint juleps paired with country ham… Read more »Posted on May 4, 2015 by Ami
Wingtip’s first exclusive ashtray design
If you’re a cigar lover like me, you’ll probably never forget where you were, or what you were doing, when you first laid eyes on my inaugural ashtray design. Simple. Purposeful. Built-in “social” integration. How could no one have already thought of it? I don’t know. A crystal ashtray for a single cigar that features an accurate,… Read more »Posted on April 25, 2015 by Ami
This Thursday: The Return Of Survivalon
We are thrilled to host Bert Pulitzer for a Survivalon trunkshow this Thursday, April 23rd. Pulitzer is an outerwear innovator, the man who taught Ralph Lauren about the neckwear business, and the guy that first made a name for Velcro. He relaunched Survivalon in 2012, and we’re happy to see it’s return. These waterproof jackets are stylish, in traditionally muted shades as well as brash and compromising colors. They are highly functional, long-lasting, and American-made. And their client roster has included titans among men, like John Wayne.Posted on April 20, 2015 by davidmacfaddenelliott
Never Lose Your Umbrella Again (Davek Umbrella Kickstarter)
For years, Davek has been the solution for people sick of umbrellas that buckle and flip inside out at the slightest hint of a breeze. Now Davek has solved our final umbrella quandary–how not to lose it. Davek’s Alert Umbrella is about to conclude a round of funding on Kickstarter, and, from the looks of… Read more »Posted on April 8, 2015 by davidmacfaddenelliott
April Whisky Bundle: A Trio From Springbank Distillery
It’s time for another whisky bundle to add to your growing collection of amazing gold liquid at your home bar. This month Kyle and I put together a fun little ditty from the region of Campbeltown. Tucked away in the South West Corner of Scotland, Campbeltown used to be home to as many as 34 distilleries. Now there are only two left, and they produce some very exciting whiskies indeed. The whiskies in this month’s bundle all come from one distillery; two are homages to closed distilleries, and the other is one of our all-time favorite daily drams. These three bottles would normally retail together for $226.97, but purchased as a bundle, we’re offering them for just $190. Without further ado, our April Whisky Bundle of Joy, featuring Springbank Distillery.Posted on April 7, 2015 by Brian MacGregor

For this one special night, eat like valkyries, gods and goddesses as we toast to Thor, Loki, Freya and Odin, the four rare expressions of the Highland Park Valhalla Collection. In fact, three of these expressions are no longer available for purchase, making this an extraordinary opportunity to be in the presence of greatness.Posted on March 31, 2015 by davidmacfaddenelliott
EyeBobs Readers At City Lights Bookstore [PHOTOS]
The beat generation was raised at a bookstore, just a stone’s throw from Wingtip, on a jagged block of Columbus Avenue, nestled between San Francisco’s North Beach and Chinatown districts. City Lights Bookstore was opened in 1953, the brainchild of Peter D. Martin, but it was co-founder Lawrence Ferlinghetti who turned it into a place where poets could read and publish works that weren’t necessarily “fit to print,” in the established sense.Posted on March 27, 2015 by davidmacfaddenelliott
Foster & Son Visits Wingtip This Week
Foster & Son’s Jermyn Street workshop in London stands as a testament to classic, understated craftsmanship. As they note on their brochure, “The tools of our craft are very simple. An awl, flax thread, beautifully naturally tanned leather, a hammer, pliers, sharp knives, beeswax, punches, and marking tools.”Posted on March 25, 2015 by davidmacfaddenelliott
